New Al Aan TV Idents – WIP

As part of our recent brand refresh for Al Aan TV we needed to create a wide range of animations that bring the Al Aan logo to life in exciting and unexpected ways as part of their broadcast identity. Peeking over our animator’s shoulders, I was surprisde to see that the traditional practice of animatiing thumbnail sketches frame-by-frame was being used to explore each new idea, rather than the hi-tech 3D animation software I usually see them working with (although that came later). Here’s a look behind the scenes of just one of the 17 different animated concepts that we created for the brand new Al Aan TV on-air idents:
