Founded in 2003, by the entrepreneur and philanthropist Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, the organisation started out as the corporate social responsibility arm of Abdul Latif Jameel.

It went on to evolve into Community Jameel, serving diverse social, cultural, educational and economic development programmes.

The next chapter in its evolution was to become a world class, philanthropic foundation that aimed to empower people through business loans that helped them pursue career opportunities. The Foundation’s mission was to make people sustainable.

A clear & focused positioning

There had been numerous legacy names and descriptions associated with the organisation, creating confusion for audiences over the years. Further complicating things was the fact some initiatives had evolved into brands in their own right, eclipsing the Community Jameel parent brand.

Our task was to develop a unified brand born out of a clear and focused positioning that expressed who they are and what they do.

Empowering communities

We developed a robust brand architecture supported by the positioning – helping communities transform themselves.

A distinctive visual language captured the diverse ways that Community Jameel benefits people and society.

The new brand is fit for the 21st century, bringing pride to the foundation staff, partners, contributors and the many people who benefit from its initiatives.
